Diane G. Kell is a painter of acrylic landscapes and cloudscapes. She grew up in the Midwest and South, left for college in New England, graduated from Brown (A.B. Art History), then lived in Massachusetts during a long career as an educational researcher.
Diane moved to Santa Fe in 2001 and was quickly captivated by the region’s beautiful skies. She says, “The sky in New Mexico lifts my spirits. Now, as an artist, I aim to do the same for others. I imagine them waking to a sunrise feeling hopeful, seeing promise in a rainbow, wandering among clouds, being awed at sunset. If a painting holds my gaze for a long time and I feel joy, peace or wonder, then I believe others will feel it, too.”
Diane joined the Santa Fe Society of Artists in 2018 and participates in the group’s outdoor shows downtown and at the Railyard arts district from mid-April to mid-October. See dates and locations at santafesocietyofartists.com.
Tips for website visitors:
Choose “Art Gallery” from the main menu to show works in reverse chronological order. Use the “Themes” menu at the side or bottom of each gallery page to view works by category, e.g., rainbows, cloudscapes, trees.
All works are original acrylic paintings. Most are on 1-1/2″ deep gallery-wrapped canvas with the painted image continuing on all sides. Exceptions, such as “on panel, framed,” are noted in captions.
